Since departing from Toad the Wet Sprocket, Phillips has released a trio of solo albums. His latest EP is a modern pop exploration on the theme of private space travel. It sounds a bit like Matthew Sweet's pre-Girlfriend sci-fi songs, but with a bit more experience and sophistication. I'm not going to be online much tomorrow, so here's my Thanksgiving post, and a great song from a fantastic album from Glen Phillips, former singer from Toad the Wet Sprocket -- an album you can listen to from start to finish many times over.
I'm thankful for my crazy family, many of whom I will see tomorrow.

I was so moved by the new Glen Phillips when it came out that I actually emailed Glen to let him know. The album is ridiculously spiritual and defining, and not in a completely overtaken sort of way, but in the strangestly sincere way possible. As a father, Glen has warmed his songwriting to bake some great pieces, some individual songs from Albulm to WInter Pays for Summer that more than justified their purchase or multiple listens. Glen Phillips has done it again. His latest release Mr. Lemons is a masterpiece that deserves to be in everyone's music collection. The 11 tracks take the listener on a journey through their psyche.
