This handsomely produced 14-song sampler album -- originally released as a record club-only item -- is a seemingly odd collection, ranging far from the most familiar of Glen Campbell's hits. Instead, these were all songs that, for one reason or another, had special meaning to Campbell, in terms of his work or his career (especially early on) or his personal listening. Thus if it isn't exactly Campbell's best -- apart from "Less of Me" -- it is some of his more interesting work from the lower end of his radio play stats (apart from "Dreams of the Everyday Housewife"), plus one B-side, "Arkansas," that was never on an LP before this (it was the B-side of "Where's the Playground, Susie"). Most of what's here is very much on the pop side of his output, rather than the country side, but there's still more than enough virtuosity at work to satisfy serious fans of Campbell's musicianship.
