If you head over to Girl Talk's label Illegal Art's Web site a world a magic and wonderment awaits. Not really, but you do have the option of downloading Girl Talk's new album Feed The Animals for (que the magic word) FREE. There is a catch.
You see, Girl Talk aka former biochemical engineer Gregg Gillis seemed to have liked all the attention Radiohead got for In Rainbows' "pay-what-you-like" phenomenom ...so much that Gilis is doing the same with "Feed the Animals.

Giving away things for free is awesome, especially when you yourself make your music for free. Such is the case for Pittsburgh's very own Greg Gillis, who's better known to the world as Girl Talk. Here is another album I picked up for free at Girl Talk's site. They took the Radiohead approach and said name your price. Since I hadn't heard them before I didn't want to spend ca$h on it. (I did for In Rainbows) However, I will go back and give them a donation. After you hear this song, let me know if you would like to hear more and I'll post other songs.

Apparently, a man at last Friday(Nov 9) night's Girl Talk show at Wash U in St. Louis made the leap from local drunk to nationally recognized jerk. I just noticed in the local paper today that Girl Talk with Dan Deacon will be performing totally FREE in Berkeley, CA on Monday October 1st. So, I checked out the website listed and it says the show is 5-7pm at Lower Sproul Plaza at UC Berkeley and it appears to be all-ages and wheelchair accessible.Turns out this is neither the first nor last of its kind. It looks like the release date for Girl Talk's latest album, Feed the Animals, has been pushed back to October 21 due to manufacturing issues and "has nothing to do with copyright issues." Gee, you think Girl Talk and his management company are sick of answering that question yet? Maybe just a little.
