With an assortment of early tracks recorded between 1966 and 1972, 16 Early Hits focuses on novelty songs, straight-ahead rock & roll, and several examples of late-'60s electronic bubblegum. It's a bit of a surprise to find Moroder's distinctive songwriting sense and flair for using odd instruments (and odd production techniques) in place this early, and it's only recommended for fanatical Moroder fans or those who don't mind incredibly Beatlesque pop music.
It's a shame this wasn't released as an A side.It's such a super song, it could have been a big hit.It was wasted because it was hidden away from the world on the B side of Looky Looky.Since 1967 my family has played it every year on everyone's birthday.No birthday is complete for us until we've heard this familiar and much-loved song.
