Written by Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks. Another song from the "Calling All Stations" release and one that few other than those that own this CD have probably heard. In my opinion "Calling All Stations" is better musically and lyrically than many of their later Phil Collins lead releases, it is really to bad that they didn't follow this up with another try with Ray Wilson as lead singer.

Anyone lucky enough to catch the recent tour? I'm sure it was great. I wasn't fortunate enough, however, I have a complete concert that was taken from the soundboard in a concert they did in Europe. Excellent sound quality. Here is the classic Los Endos. Enjoy!!... MORE

Another song lyric from "Trick Of The Tail". A release that seems to get over looked. The first release by Genesis after the departure of Peter Gabriel.

A song I heard today while listening to my MP3 player at work. Felt that it would make a nice post and plan on more from this CD. Great musically and lyrically.

Have you ever heard someone say, "Phil Collins was one of the best artists of the eighties. He reinvented himself in the eighties as a crooner, and in the nineties as a touring piece of saffron that sang monkey songs from a scooner. That Phill Collins is such an awesome drummer, he even toured with a big band playing jazz standards like "Stella by Starlight" when he got sick of the monkey songs. You see, I remember when Genesis reunited for "We Can Dance" in 1991 ... MORE

Genesis! I think it's the tom tom fills. God I loved this song. One of those that I'd play back to back to back. They were good even after Gabriel left but never better IMO than around the time this album came out. I met Phil Collins once and we talked about jazz drummers (he was great in the band Brand X!). I told him I thought Billy Cobham was the best ever..a little insensitive of me perhaps. Oh well, he didn't seem to mind. Nice guy. Enjoy MM... MORE

when you think of the supergroup genesis you think of peter gabriel of peter gabriel fame, phil collins of phil collins fame and mike rutherford of mike and the mechanics fame... so who was that fourth original member? well it was tony banks. ive always thought that it would really suck to be the only member of genesis known as ___ of genesis fame. i guess it would suck just as much to be steve hackett as well but probably for other reasons all together. tony banks and mike r... Although none of the music will be new material, Genesis is planning to release quite a bit later this year. Fans of Phil Collins & the gang can expect a live album, DVD , and a book around Christmas time.
Mike Rutherford of Genesis revealed to Billboard.com that filming has been going on since last October for a DVD , and the bands upcoming concert at the Circo Massimo in Rome will be filmed as well. "We're gonna film that one for a DVD and proba... MORE

I've had the Live Earth benefit going on in the background while puttering around the apartment this morning. Nothing new under the sun in re: the tidbits of self-inflicted ecodoom and envirogloom (e.g., 40 million plastic water bottles disposed daily, taking 100 years to decompose), nor the guest spots (Will Ferrell & Chris Rock PSAs, Kelly Clarkson really is as backwoods as you think), nor the features (Ed Begley rocks! There are recycled tires onstage!) nor the music (... MORE

I'm quite surprised we haven't had any comments from the anti-Phil brigade, complaining he stole the Oscar for best song from Randy Newman (with When She Loved Me) and the like. Actually that Tarzan soundtrack under whelmed me when I first heard it, and then I kept borrowing it from my daughter and it ended up on the iPod. A couple of really nice themes stretched out to a full soundtrack (but aren't a lot like that?). But we can't have a few Phil Collins posts without ... MORE

Felt the urge to listen to tunes while shooting time exposures at the beach last night. As I was standing there in the darkness, a lone figure dressed in dark grey rags walked by me as I was looking through my viewfinder. I almost didn't see him it was so dark. Pouring out of my car speakers was "The Carpet Crawler" by Genesis. Coincidence?
I guess that's par for the course when cruising through the night.... MORE
