So, I come back from a week vacation in the old Sunshine state only to find a wee little package waiting for me on the doorstep. To my surprise, it was from Absolutely Kosher records. Wow, I picked a hell of an album for my first Mog album review. To say that Frog Eyes is a polarizing band would be quite the understatement. You will either love the way they push rock music to it's boundaries and create something you've never heard before, or you'll cringe at the strange, unintelligible vocals. Ookpik's great Elephant Island mp3s got me into a Victoria, British Columbia mood. A Frog Eyes mood, yessiree! The whole band's disjointed craziness is fantastic throughout their catalogue, but Ego Scriptor strips most everything away except Carey Mercer's frenetic, soft psychosis.
