How often is it that you go to a concert nowadays and hear an opening band and it inspires you to buy their cd? For me it is rare. Even though I try to go to all shows with an open mind and really listen to a bands music if I have never heard them prior. I had only heard of Frightened Rabbit because they were opening for a band near and dear to my heart, Pinback. I scanned their website and Myspace page quick the day of the show to get an idea of what I was about to hear.... MORE

There have been so many great records out of Scotland this year: 1990s, Twilight Sad, (reissued) Fire Engines, Young Knives. Still let's add one more, Frightened Rabbit whose debut, Sing the Greys is out today in the US.
