Frightened Rabbit and their two new songs
about 1 month ago

Frightened Rabbit, the Scottish band that has been releasing a slew of good records over the past couple years, is back with a new two track single highlighting the songs, “Swim Until You Can’t See Land” and “Fun Stuff”. And the real fun stuff is that they are both really good records and maintain the previous levels of quality that the band has shown themselves capable of. If that gets

show review: Frightened Rabbit at The Independent – Sept 18th, 2009
about 1 month ago

Opening act The Twilight Sad fit squarely within what I had anticipated from an opener on this tour: folk-rock, emotionally potent, and very Scottish. Their tunes were solid, but like everyone else in the audience my attention felt more focused on getting a vantage point for when Frightened Rabbit took to the stage. There was [...]

The U.K. Rocks the States: Frightened Rabbit and We Were Promised Jetpacks
about 1 month ago

Last night I was able to catch two of Scotland's (and possibly Europe's) best indie bands: We Were Promised and Frightened Rabbit. I also got to catch The Twilight Sad. Since I don't like to criticize bands too much, I'll just say The Twilight Sad wasn't my style.Fortunately, We Were Promised Jetpacks and Frightened Rabbit put on two shows that more than made up for it. Frightened Rabbit has be...

It didn't hurt that Frightened Rabbit is an incredibly sincere band and that a g...

The Midnight Organ Fight (you can read Strange Glue's review here) was brilliant, there's no getting away from that simple fact. It was emotional, catchy, fantastically crafted and had some of the most memorable lyrics this writer has heard in a fair few years.

Blog post image preview

How often is it that you go to a concert nowadays and hear an opening band and it inspires you to buy their cd? For me it is rare. Even though I try to go to all shows with an open mind and really listen to a bands music if I have never heard them prior. I had only heard of Frightened Rabbit because they were opening for a band near and dear to my heart, Pinback. I scanned their website and My...

Originally posted at Ghost of Electricity. Go there, see me, say hi, stay awhile, subscribe. It's about time this list came out. I know that alot of lists have already seen daylight, and I've certainly been teasing for a while, but the truth is, I've discovered so much music this year. Particularly, in the last two months. If I had already written my list, then I probably would have chan...
