Rating: 4 stars out of 10 The Good: The first 3 or 4 songs are pretty good.The Bad: Tired lyrics, subpar production.The Ugly: Recycled Vocals! Completely unacceptable. Long before anyone heard a single lyric from this album, it was generally assumed that it'd be a train wreck. After spending 8 months in jail (and 2 months in solitary confinement), Foxy Brown is a free woman. Like all dysfunctional celebs, Foxy is now shooting a VH1 reality show (no joke).

They are wasting no time getting this TV show ball rolling. Foxy's only been out of jail a few weeks so I'm sure they've been filming non-step.
On the awesomeness scale of reality shows (Bobby Brown's being a 10, and Britney's being a 1), Foxy's looks like a solid 5.

Considering how crazy her life has been in the last two years... this doesn't surprise me in the least. Foxy was so disappointed and displeased with her new album, she's fired her manager and promised a better LP to her fans. She says the album was "compiled without her approval" during her 8 month jail stint.

I love Foxy, I always have. Like most Jamaican women and dancehall survivors, she's tuff, she rolls with the punches and spits them back on the microphone. Foxy Brown, who has been incarcerated since late August, has requested an early release from prison due to he ear condition. Brown wrote a four page letter to the judge that was filed on Tuesday, as part of an appeal at New York State Supreme Court.

At the beginning of the month, I reported about a few songs Foxy Brown was working on for Brooklyn Don Diva before getting thrown in the slammer. One was "Mr DJ" featuring a sample from Barrington Levy's "Here I Come (Broader Than Broadway)" song. The other was a collaboration with Mavado, "We're On Fire." Foxy Brown is fresh out of the hole in Rikers Island Prison, and spoke with Metro about her stay in jail and her new mindset. If I had just spent forty days in solitary confinement, I'd probably want to talk to reporters too. “I’m a survivor,” Brown said. “It’s been very hard, but I believe God uses circumstances to develop your character. Foxy Brown was looking like a true Brooklyn Don Diva for a minute there - pulling strings from inside prison to ensure the completion of her newest album and its release. She recorded her vocals for "We’re On Fire" before entering Rikers Island prison, then Mavado laid down the track with his own vocals while she was adjusting to her new home. The US prison system is having a hard time rehabilitating Foxy Brown. Even the notorious Rikers Island facility, where Brown has been incarcerated since September, hasn't broken the diva one bit. According to Geoffrey Davis, a friend of Brown's family and an activist who manages an anti-violence nonprofit org in Brooklyn, stated, "If they release her today, she'll be back in a week." In what amounts to just about the ONLY good piece of Foxy Brown news that we've heard in ages, she's been let out of solitary confinement due to good behavior in jail. Foxy was supposed to be locked away for 23 hours a day in "punitive segregation" for two and a half months. Good behavior caused Brown to be released in 40 days.
