So my friend Jeremiah just got back from the Creation Festival, which is this awesome thing in Pennsylvania with a whole bunch of really cool Christian bands who all play and it's amazing. So anyways, he brought me back this shirt which was really nice and all and then i look at it and it says Congratulations, to Jimmy, and is signed by all the members of Flyleaf, and Lacey also wrote Psalm 139 on there which i read and its a really good psalm, but anyways, that was just ... Kay. I love Lacey Mosley. I don't care that she's christian. HEck I would turn christian if she asked me to.
She is amazing. She truly inspires me and I seriously wish i could meet her.
And by the way, their music is perfect as it is, it doesn't need to change.
I found out that a band I recently 'discovered' - Flyleaf - is a Christan rock band or at least marketed as Bible thumpers. For a split second I wondered if I should continue to like them, since I'm not very religious and don't feel lifted up by song sermons. But then I slapped myself hard and said "HEY, music is music. I think with alittle bit of work, they could be a good heavy band but thats just my opinion. I don't think they aim to be "heav... MORE
I wrote a mog post the other day about a cd that turned out to be by a christian band. That post and the comments on it got me thinking about where I draw the line. Below are lyrics from Flyleaf that I find exceptionable and lyrics by Ozzy Osbourne that I don’t find exceptionable. They both allude to a higher power. The first is feels very negative to me, while the second is positive. But, that’s me. My husband can’t stand anything with any religious connotations and... MORE
The second CD – Flyleaf – was very interesting. I had never heard of them before. He put it on in the car on our way home and it sounded like an Evanescence knockoff. I didn’t really like it but I decided to re-listen at home, because sometimes music takes a few listens. I have a quirk where I have to see the lyrics to a song before I decided if I like it or will buy it. This has kept me from buying a lot of stuff that I liked on first listen, but that’s another story... MORE
