Did you know that tiny Belton (population 17,330) is home to a platinum-selling rock band? Flyleaf's self-titled debut on Octone Records has sold steadily since its 2005 release, reaching platinum status this spring. Four of the album's 11 tracks have cracked Billboard charts, highlighted by "All Around Me" reaching #17 on the pop chart this year following a #6 peak on the modern rock chart in ...

I wrote a mog post the other day about a cd that turned out to be by a christian band. That post and the comments on it got me thinking about where I draw the line. Below are lyrics from Flyleaf that I find exceptionable and lyrics by Ozzy Osbourne that I don’t find exceptionable. They both allude to a higher power. For a split second I wondered if I should continue to like them, since I'm not very religious and don't feel lifted up by song sermons. But then I slapped myself hard and said "HEY, music is music. Now go get some ice before this swells up." Do you have any bands that ...
I saw Flyleaf this year at Family Values Tour and I must say, they do put on a pretty decent show. They're a bit Nu-metalish which may turn some people away from them. Their female lead singer has a pretty decent scream that I think she needs use more often and pretty good singing voice as well. Their band isn't the heaviest band out there either. I think with alittle bit of work, they could be...
