Nothing quite says summer like free music. The South Street Seaport kicked off the season of shows on Friday, May 30th with Wire, a band that I probably should be more familiar with. They're undeniably influential, not merely for post-punkers like Bloc Party and Franz Ferdinand, but they've also been embraced by more electro-minded artists, a direction they apparently took later on. I came a...
Definitely the short and sweet news of the day: Fischerspooner - one part Warren Fisher and the other part Casey Spooner - are bringing their flamboyant electroclash back with a new album. After four years the duo will unleash Entertainment on their own label FS Studios. The long wait for the follow-up to 2005's Odyssey can be blamed on the fall of the band former major label Capitol and a two...
Arjan breaks the story...Is it just me, or is this not all that great of news? Now I love glam and costumes and theater-art-rock as much as the next person, and I respect what Fischerspooner brought to the largely passionless performance aesthetic of electronic music, but.Their music just ain't that good. It's too much from too little, you know? If I want good weird overproduced electro pop, I'...
Megacolon, a hidden track on Fischerspooner's classic debut #1 ("Says who?" - "Me."), is lyrical genius. It's an entertaining read, though I highly suggest this disc is added to the collection. Look for the third full-length coming out soon...Moaning and a heaving on a hot sticky can I'm craving chocolate Ex-Lax and my GE fan I'm tagging on the wall how I got in this jam It said MSG money, Mar...
We Are Electric Fischerspooner put a new video up for their track "We Are Electric" and let's just say... well, I think these guys may take themselves a bit too seriously. All in all you could either take it as futuristic or really frickin' ridiculous. I like the hat installation, though. It definitely helps balance out the stupidity of the spirit fingers/magic hands movements.

I think I first heard of Fischerspooner years ago through Jason Kottke ( kottke.org), and I still think "Emerge" is their best song, followed by "Sweetness". I could put on any of their albums and not skip a track, though.
Here the Fischerspooner track to support fistula spume's post "I Love Saturday":http://mog.com/fistula_spume/blog_post/73410 .The track is "Wednesday".Given your tastes in electronica fist, I am sure you'll like this. If you want more let me know.

As one of pioneer groups of the electroclash movement, Fischerspooner's Entertainment suggests the band has surpassed its prime. The term "electroclash" was spawned in 2001 emphasizing the incorporation of art with music in a new wave style. This is important because while Fischerspooner, comprised of Carey Spooner and Warren Fischer, would claim their music is not dance music, it is the dance...
Leave it to Fischerspooner to push the proverbial envelope even farther with the release of their upcoming record, Entertainment (FS Studios). Highly regarded for intricate and provocative stage shows, Fischerspooner weave elements of Vaudeville, Kabuki & 60s-era U.S. Space Program into their new album to make a statement that is wholly their own, as evidenced in the first look at the cover art
After seeing the cover of the album and reading about the details of it, I have been drenched with curiosity to hear the rest of Entertainment. It's Fischerspooner's latest album, which is set to be released May 4th. Many of us have already heard a few good songs off the album, but let me just say, the rest of them are equally as impressive. You might not be dancing to it as much as you would'...
D.I.M. has done it again! This remix of Fischerspooner’s new single is not as juicy as the first time D.I.M. worked on them, but still gets me jumping.“Supply & Demand (D.I.M. remix)” | download“Supply & Demand” | downloadDon’t forget that Fischerspooner will be celebrating the release of their 3rd studio album Entertainment, out May 5th on FS Studios, with the preview of their new sho
