Filter - Remixes For The Damned Review

Ever since the 90's when I got turned on to Filter, I've kind of been on the edge of liking them. I love their involvement in The Crystal Method's "Trip Like I Do" and I also love that along with industrial-rock sounding music, they can still release songs like "Take My Picture".The latest Filter album, entitled Anthems For The Damned was released on May 13th, 2008 and was given mostly positive...

Not too back. 2002. Filter is a band that I feel has been overlooked in the long run. I've always known they were around and they did have a few videos running on MTV, but it wasn't until I heard this record in a friends car that I really took notice. I think it was the drum sound on this song (American Cliche) that really got to me. And so I bought The Amalgamut, their third record, produced, ...

When this song came out, I sometimes would sit between the speakers and just scream it for all I was worth. Today in the cubicle it shuffled up, and I felt very repressed. IMing AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN is just not the same.Wherever you are, I hope you can crank it and scream as needed.

I went to the Buzz Festivus concert in Houston!

I went to a kick-ass concert last night!!! Three artists were there which were Glass Intrepid, Army of Anyone, and last but not least Three Days Grace. I can honestly say that I never really appreciated thier music until I saw them live in concert. Well, I did know of the lead singer Richard Patrick in the group Filter when they were hot and heavy back a few years ago. Richard is now the lead s...

Alright...my first post on MOG. I think it's a brilliant idea. I mean, now I can devote my MySpace to other important things in life and focus on my "music life" writings here. Yeah, right. As if I post on MySpace often enough to start out with.Anyway, I haven't explored here much, so I haven't found any "trusted mogs," or anything like that. And I'm not uploading information about my enti...

Lemme tell ya why it's Monday. I just finished a weekend that wasn't really a weekend no matter what "cobyhoff":http://mog.com/cobyhoff says since I spent it cleaning, moving. building and driving and not relaxing or drinking. Not having those precious 48 hours to just regress into the pale spectre of the slob I was when I was unemployed I carried over my allusions that I was still at work, thu...

Television Ad Campaigns That Suck

I'm in a bit of a salty mood. Yesterday Lemontwist had a mog rolling with some regard to the exploitation of music in advertising. I'm following up on that in a way, because I was watching TV last night and realized how insultingly stupid some commercials are, with or without good tunes... This Mog is dedicated to those advertising campaigns that suck. Here's my top 5 most annoyingly lame, in n...

Filter Stuff

Greetings peoples! I found a cool lil' bit of stuff from Filter over at the AT&T Blue Room. They perform two songs, "Soldiers of Misfortune" & "The Take" and Richard Patrick talks about the album and current goings-on with the band. He discusses why the band is now signed independent, his alcoholism, and the theme of the album to give you a little taste. If any of you don't know who Filter is...
