Ettienne's farewell show at the Rickshaw Stop was a time warp to 1998 (or before). Images of that old man soft shoe-ing to Ettienne at the Ivy Room danced through my head (Whatever happened to that guy? Why didn't he ever ask me to dance?) Many a night at Bruno's. The Stork Club with C.O.B. The sweet voice and the sweet man will be missed. We wish him and his beautiful family all the best as they journey to Ettienne's southern homelands. Ok - so I'm back and I just can't stay away;)
Etienne de Rocher is a Bay-Area based Singer/Songwriter that I first heard about 6 or 7 years ago. He didn't have a release yet, but there was a demo floating around and one of the A&R guys in my office (and former booking agent for Yoshi's) was a fan. He slipped me a copy and I quickly became a huge fan. I searched all over, hoping for a release, more tunes, New York gigs - but found nothing. So, here I am, roughly 7... MORE
