This acoustic piece is so perfectly rendered by Eric Clapton. A far superior rendition than most, as it is entirely acoustic guitar.
Eric Clapton at the Hartford Civic Center, Hartford, CT. This is the second time I saw Clapton in Hartford, the first was on the Journeyman tour in 1990. At the time of this show, I was actually kinda disappointed and since then I always preferred the 1990 show... I recently acquired this recording, though, and the show is much better, much ballsier, than I remember it being. I poked around on some Clapton fan sites and it seems to have quite a reputation with the fans... MORE
Eric Clapton at the Civic Center in Hartford, CT on April 12, 1990. This is the first time I saw Clapton live and I really dug this show. Clapton was out in support of the Journeyman record which had a bunch of radio hits and really kick-started him into the 90s...I sort of lost my interest in Clapton as the 90s progressed but man, what a career. Having major (and numerous) hits in 4 or 5 decades is no small feat... The line-up for this tour, in addition to Clapton, wa... MORE
I finally finished the first draft of my dissertation today. It's just the first draft and there is more to do, but it's a huge weight off my mind.
And this is the song that has kept me going over the past two days. I don't know why. It just worked out that way.

Readers hoping for sex and drugs and rock 'n' roll won't be disappointed by the legendary guitarist's autobiography.
How do you cram forty years of rock 'n' roll into under four hundred pages?
I liked the book. However, I didn't feel that there was any groundbreaking revelations presented. I guess if you live your life as an open book, it leaves it harder to write one.
I'd like to hear what others who have read the book have to say.

Hey, you! Yes, you who are about to shove your finger down your throat. Stop. This isn't about the song. It's about the performance, and not even Clapton's performance. There are some great musicians who are comfortable enough in their own skin to step aside for a moment, and let other, not-well-known, artists have a moment, in the spotlight, to let their talents shine. Clapton has always appreciated other musicians, and, aside from his own music, I think one of hi... MORE
Anybody else catch this review by Stephen King of "Clapton"? "Most A.A. meetings begin with the chairman offering his qualifications at the head table next to the coffee maker. This qualification is more commonly known in the program as the drunkalogue. It’s a good word, with its suggestions of inebriated travel, and it certainly fits Eric Clapton’s account of his life. “Clapton” is nothing so literary as a memoir, but its dry, flat-stare honesty makes it a welcome antid...
