So I have looked around on here, looking to see if anyone has written anything on the new Eisley album, _Combinations_, and haven't found anything. I was curious as to whether anyone has heard it and what they think of it. To me, it sounds like they're a little pissed off at someone. The tone of the album is darker than _Room Noises_, and some of the lyrics suggest a less than pleasant relationship with someone. Still, this group of kids still manage to impress me wit... MORE
I have been to Best Buy like 3 times in the past 2 weeks trying to get the new Eisley CD, and the first time they had sold out of their first 7 cds, and said they'd get more when the truck came on thurdsay. So i came back on Friday to see if they had it, but it wasnt out yet so the guy went to go check in the back, but then the power went out so the guy couldnt find it cause it was dark and all, and so i bought 2 other cds, and figured id come back the next week. But i end... MORE
I've been waiting for their new album for so long now and it's finally out! I'm quite obsessed with it right now b/c it's brilliant. Got to love them.
Eisley started off their very first acoustic tour in Seattle last night. It was a great show! Some highlights:
1. It was my first time seeing the band live and I was pretty blown away by the girls' voices. Stacy Dupree could sing the Meow Mix jingle for two hours and I'm pretty sure I'd still pay $15 to hear it.
2. We got there just in time to grab two of the few rows of seats! Hooray for no lower back pain. The small venue was awesome (paper mache cobras and all) for... MORE

So in continuation of my ABC's of Rock and Roll (gosh, it's been months), I'm going to post up at least one letter (I have them all done mostly, I just keep getting lazy or busy or both) of the alphabet. We are on E. This was far from an Eeeeasy choice (chortle), but some close runners were Erin Mckeown, Earl Greyhound, and Edith Piaf. The "winner" of my exposure? Eisley. Despite pigeonholing themselves into a category of indie harmony-dependents, Eisley is a quite talente... MORE
Eisley are great. They are a band from Texas made of four Dupree siblings and a cousin. I think I heard about them opening for Coldplay and others like Brand New and decided to give them a listen. They have a unique sound and the music is very... pretty. AND they just announced an acoustic tour which begins in Seattle (hooray for me) and I think ends in New York.
Some random Eisley trivia:
* They originally named their band Mos Eisley after a spaceport town in Star W... MORE
Thanks again everyone for humoring my stream of consciousness type ramblings.
Now how about some music...i think I have posted on Eisley before, but there are so many new ears here...i thought I would revisit them for a sec.
Although they don't reinvent the wheel, there is still a definite charm to be found in Eisley songs...i present you with
Exhibit A:
How in all my efforts to find good music could I have failed to uncover this song until now?
This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Where were you on that one, internet?
On track for their planned April release, which can't come soon enough, Eisley had a listening party with songs from their new still untitled record. My future favorite songs on my future favorite album of 2007 (barring a new Radiohead record) were heard by the bigwigs of their record label Warner Bros. They will be playing songs from this new record at their annual Xmas show in December (hey that's next month!). But as I am in Iraq and nowhere near Texas, someone else... MORE
