Took a trip to my library on Sunday and picked up some albums to listen to. I got: Audion - Suckfish Cassius - 15 Again Clientele - God save the Clientele Deerhunter - Cryptograms Editors - The Back Room I've only listened to the Audion album to completetion so far. It's a really great album. I skimmed through the Deerhunter and liked what I heard. Not so sure about that Cassius album yet. I've never heard this Editors album so I grabbed it. Clientele is jus... Sorry for the length, but this is I think an interesting matter that needs to be carefully put into words and arguments. Yesterday I saw Editors. Normally I would do a review on it, maybe recount my personal venture with late trains and stuff. But there is something more pressing I want to address. You know, I love that band. That voice, those great tracks; they are wonderful. Especially live Editors kick it into higher gear. Maybe some of you read my review on their s... MORE
Editors (+ Hot Hot Heat, Louis XIV)
(The Warfield, San Francisco CA, 02/08/2008)
I was happy to get another chance to see Editors at an indoors venue (I was in Europe at the time of their show at The Fillmore last fall), despite the fact that The Warfield doesn't have terribly good acoustics. After rushing to San Francisco from a three-hour faculty meeting (argh), I manage to arrive just in time to find my friends Patrick and Tessa at a pretty decent spot (by the front rail ... MORE

So here's the thing... my favorite album of 2007 isn't from 2007. I was a late bloomer to the Editors... I didn't have cool siblings til joinin MOG this year. Siblings that hooked me up & got me hardcore into the Editors, BIG PROPS to Anna & Dale !!! & sure, An End Has a Start is a feckin brilliant album on the whole. But the album that I played repeatedly for days & days & rarely put down for more than a week or two at a time...
THE BACK ROOM circa 2005 ;)

The editors. I had gotten into them somewhat recently. I am a huge Fan of Interpol and The Editors have a lot of similar qualities but they have their own unique sound. This makes for a good band in my book.
Once again, late with my song of the day. But instead of saying screw it (which I seriously considered) I am here in the last hours of Sunday with: I discovered Editors when Munich was the free song of the week on iTunes back in March 2006. Say what you want about iTunes, I like free stuff and the free songs usually don't suck. (Crap for free is still crap. Copyright Hello_Mimi.) Editors are far from sucking and when my birthday rolled around I immediately used my i... MORE

At first I was like "Damn, do we really need another Interpol?" By track three I was like "Yeah, OK, I guess we do."
