Maybe it has already been posted, but oh well, it is always a good time to post Editors multiple times. ;) Anyway, The Racing Rats vid is here, as it is going to be the new single of the band. I love the tune, think it is the best on their new album, with strong lyrics ("Lets pretend we never met, lets pretend we are on our own") and when the piano kicks into higher gear I actually caught myself jumping into the pit during their London gig (which is very rare for me as I... so here's my latest discovery... Editors. not sure if any of you have heard of the group, but I have to tell ya, I'm really digging the tunes. to describe it i'd have to say it's New Wave meets Dead Can Dance. Groon, I think they'd be right up your ally. It's very sit in the dark with a drink and a cigar and mellow out. Groon it reminds me of hanging out with you and Elizabeth back in college. Know what I mean? Anyway, here's the tune that got me listening to them,... MORE
The second track from Editor's new album is around the net (in case you missed the first one, it's right here).
And it's gorgeous. From the music, to The Voice, to the lyrics. "When you caught my eye, I saw everywhere I've been and wanna go" takes a place amongst my most romantic lyrics of all time. I don't have much more to say, I like it so much that I'm tongue-tied. Enjoy.
You can get it here.
Editors recently played a sellout gig at the University Of East Anglia in Norwich on Monday, 1 October, 2007. The BBC has posted a collection of photos from the gig which can be viewed by CLICKING HERE. The Birmingham, English based rockers are currently wrapping up their UK tour, then will be off to cover most of Europe. The band has been on a whirlwind world tour, following the success of their sophomore release An End Has a Start (Kitchenware), which placed #1 in the ... MORE
I'm basically tongue-tied, but I should enter 10 words of promotional copy, so: hadn't cried to a song in a long time. "You fuse my broken bones, back together and then, lift the weight of the world from my shoulders again...every little piece in life, will add up to one, every little piece of your life, will mean something to someone...you touch my face, god whispers in my ear, there are tears in my eyes, love replaces fear"........ I don't have many words for the new... MORE
Words can't explain how much I love their music! I think they are one of the best bands live. It was actually a live performance that really peaked my interest, and I was thrilled to find that they were making their way to Vancouver. Tom Smith is totally captivating to watch in action.
I'll rave a little more later... Like I said...no words! Maybe I'll be able to manage a review after the gig, but I think all that will leave these lips is WOW!!!
"Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors," the first single from the upcoming Editors album An End Has A Start, has begun making rounds on mp3 blogs. A MOG search turned up no mp3 of the song (dustfinger1210 posted about the single), so here you go. As much as I hate to say it as someone who really enjoyed Editors' debut album, I'm quite disappointed. There are a few nicely swooping vocal melody lines, but for the most part the song sounds way too much like Coldplay [shudder].... MORE
