AMG Review of Lonely Again
Greg Adams
All Music Guide"Lonely Again," a lush pop allad that floats by in a choral mist, became a number one hit for Eddy Arnold in 1967. The attendant album is filled with allads in the same vein, and although Arnold made many such albums in the '60s, Lonely Again holds up better than some. That's because the songs are mostly original, the production is not fixed in any particular era, and there are no attempts at trendiness or conspicuous modernity. "Did It Rain" and "He's Got You" are simply lovely performances in complimentary settings, and the entire album, for that matter, is an easy listening pleasure.
