I first came to know and love Eazy-E via a primitive form of file sharing involving a repurposed Bon Jovi cassette. I was just a kid, fifth grade, I believe. I used to wow my classmates at recess with my renditions of Eazy's raps. Back in those days, Eazy sounded something like this:A half-dozen years later a dude comes up to me and says, he says, "I want to ride with you to our (baseball) g...
Beef. Dre & Eazy were tight at one point, but Dre ain't nuthin but a studio gangsta in Eazy's mind. Eazy explains how for six years Dre could diss Eazy all he wanted, but he was still gettin paid on anything Dre sold. A funny clip because Eazy joins KRS-1 as a guest on the Arsenio Hall show only to do his interview in a robe. He then performs 'Real Compton G's'. Eazy had style that many ...

Mike Orduna - "Ruthless"As an art form, music surpasses visual still art in terms of power and public awareness. Its innate ability to reach the masses explains why people like Paul McCartney and Jay-Z are more widely recognized than, say, Andy Warhol, Frank Gehry or even Pablo Picasso. In short, music, like film, has star-making power. But while music is what permeates the masses, it's the stil...
Quick, name some cities you associate with hardcore west coast rap! I think I know the ones that come to mind for most: LA, Compton, maybe Oakland, and of course, Winnipeg. The 'Peg I hear you ask? Of course. Thanks to the awesome Can't Stop Won't Stop, last week I discovered that the founder of Priority Records, Bryan Turner, hails from Winnipeg. Priority is of course the label that agree...
