All Music GuideThe Duke Jordan set (pianist Jordan, bassist Niels-Henning Orstead Pedersen, drummer Billy Hart) swings nicely in an underplayed fashion. "Foxie Cakes" was taken solo and was interesting for its mix of piano techniques like Thelonious Monk; one begun to hear a more pronounced stride element in his playing.
