All Music GuideStarting in 1973, pianist Duke Jordan recorded a long series of excellent sets for the European SteepleChase label; all should be of interest to bop collectors. This CD reissue, which adds an alternate take of the title cut to the original LP program, has five quintet numbers -- all Jordan originals -- with trumpeter Richard Williams (in excellent form), tenor saxophonist Charlie Rouse, bassist Sam Jones and drummer Al Foster, plus a solo piano rendition of "Solitude." The date lives up to its potential.
