After experiencing the three lead guitar attack of DBT twice in the past two years, I was a bit nervous for my first post Jason Isbell experience. My friend books these free downtown NYC shows in the summer, so I was very lucky to be standing just 10 feet away from the band on the side of the stage, which certainly adds. I haven't posted in quite awhile, mostly because I don't have internet access, so I'm posting this by other means. OK, Drive By Truckers. The name turned me off for awhile, but ever since I heard them I've been hooked. Maybe I'm a sucker for dual singers, which is something they do, but its a little more than that. Drive By Truckers put on a great show. They play marathon sets filled with some amazing rock moments. How can you go wrong with three lead guitarists?! Outfit is still my favorite tune. Have never seen my other faves live though, Nine Bullets and Steve Mcqueen. Bobby Bare Jr. is a unique mix of country, rock and punk.
