Yeah you read that crazy title right, it was really weird typing it out. Whatever, we finally get a very brief preview of Detox thanks to him teaming up with Dr. Pepper. The L.A.-based hip-hop producer appears in the last installment of an ad campaign entitled “Trust Me, I’m A Doctor,” and teases music from the [...]
Not unlike Chinese Democracy, Dr. Dre has been promising the release of his long-awaited final album, Detox, for a long time — in this case, since the early part of this decade. Originally set for a Fall 2005 release, the album has now been scheduled for release “sometime in 2009 by Interscope Records.” Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it. In the meantime, Dr. Dre has come up with what seems to...
Inspired by Dre's (real or perceived?) betrayal by his former NWA band mate Easy E. Add to that a few choice shots at the talentless Luke of 2 Live Crew. The anger is visceral and palpable. Some "gansta" hip-hop seems like commerically inspired posing, but the threat of violence in this song is authentic and chilling. After what seems like years of silence, Dr. Dre has finally poked his head out from underground. First by making an unexpected appearance at the VMA's earlier this month, now the super producer has finally spoken on the fight between his two artists. The problem is, nobody really cares about the 50 and Game feud anymore, so thats a mission accomplished for the good doctor. In a recent interview...
I know that you know what the track below was sampled into. But, can you name the track that was sampled, the artist, and the producer of the original? If you are not sure crying Uncle is recommended. 5 points for each correct response.Another track from the same artist and producer is in comments.
In a rap world where every artist seems to be fighting for your attention, wearing loud jewelry and waving their arms saying "LOOK AT ME", Dr. Dre hardly ever says anything. Dr. Dre finally came out of his hole this weekend to promote a new line of headphones he created and was asked the inevitable question about "Detox". Snoop Dogg first reported that the project was near completion, and Dre c...
