I've been listening to lot's of Don Caballero lately and the song "I'm Goofballs for Bozzo Jazz" is definitely noteworthy in my opinion. It really showcases drummer Damon Che's abilities I think. Please listen to this band!

So this thing is supposed to be about music, right? I mean, that is the idea, from what I've gathered - the thoughts I have on music and all that. Music is essential to my life. That separates me from the pack, right? Who doesn't find music to be an important part of their life? I have never met a person that has said, "I don't like music." Bit of "Math rock" something I've enjoyed for a while :) So I got my bank statement through. turns out I've managed to reduce my bank balance by a factor of 10 in just 6 months. Time to find a job I guess. This is the same sort of genre defying shit we get from Trans Am, Oneida, Hella, and other highly technically proficient, (primarily or utterly as the case may be) instrumental rock groups. I felt floored the same way as I felt the first time I listened to Spiderland or The Red Line while listening to this. This album has the added benefit of being a fairly austere affair, with the guitar-bass-drum paradigm being played out as though someone took the Black Sabbath, rippe... MORE

Independant, Sunderland, England Support from This Aint Vegas - entertaining indie rock band from the north east whose album i was inspired into buying. Lords - Chaotic pop band who i didn't really get, time for a sit down. The drummer played alongside a guitar duo, managing somehow to hold togther a kit that looked on the point of falling apart. There's a lot of noise amongst listeners who give a hoot whether or not this latest lineup merits the Don Caballero name, which just amounts to splitting hairs. What I want to know is what happened to the drummer from the donor band? What's that guy doing now that he's been left with an empty practice space and a lot of free time?Anyways, the song I tagged is worth a listen - at least the first (DDDDouble KKKKick) half is. WOW! I just got the new Don Cab cd and I must say I'm very impressed. I like this album way more than "American Don". The song "And And And He Lowered the Twin Down" is amazing. I can't wait to see them at the BlackCat in DC next month!
