AMG Review of Live in England

All Music GuideThis live album, recorded at a club performance in England in the early 1970s, is okay, but not as good as it could have been. The backing band is a little too tame and slick, although Shannon himself is in good form. Most of his biggest hits are represented in a smooth '70s fashion, not as powerful as the originals but more mature than the original 1960s versions. Sort of the Del Shannon equivalent of albums like Hollies Live.
