Ok so this is actually less of a review and more of a oops we missed this one and we really need to bring it to your attention so here it is kind of thing. The 5 tracker came out in June and for Deerhunter fans it's simply a must and for the rest of you it's a great inrot to the band who just keep getting better and better after two great albums 'Weird Era Cont.' and 'Microcastle'.For an in dept...
News coming in from this year’s ATP Festival that Deerhunter frontman Bradford Cox announced the band will be going on a prolonged hiatus. According to the band, the break is supposed to last a “long time” which may come as bad news to Deerhunter faithful that have been spoiled with a luxurious amount of [...]
Another bangin’ Deerhunter bootleg. This is a high-quality audience recording, taken from June of this year in Sydney. It comes to you courtesy of the groovy blog down under Bastard Squad (via Fuck Yeah, Deerhunter), which has an array of bootlegs from other great groups, as well as photos of pandas and other radness.ZIP :::Deerhunter [...]
UPDATE 8.4: While I’ve made some rather cute, possibly uncouth comments about the insane weather today in this entry, the flooding has gotten serious in Louisville. I’ve been adding news as I get it on The Decibel Tolls’ Twitter. Be careful out there, ya’ll.Sweet sassy molassey! The concert event I’ve been waiting for all summer, [...]

Considering this newest EP from Deerhunter clocks in at just under fifteen minutes, it sure does try and fit a whole lot in. Taking off from where both of 2008's Microcastle and Weird Era Cont. left off, the newest set of material for Bradford Cox and Co.
Rainwater Cassette Exchange seems to exist as a microcosm of Microcastle. All muscle and no fat, this EP builds on the last album’s diversions into taut, yet dreamy, pop music.
Recent attendees of a Deerhunter show will surely have noted the piles of cassettes scattered over the merch stand. While selling their latest EP on an effectively obsolete format is mainly an arch reference to the titular exchange, it could also be seen as a tribute to the murky sound quality shared by both cheap [...]
If you haven't yet been turned onto the dubious delights of Atlanta ambient punks Deerhunter it's probably worth pursuing and it was a nice treat to find this edit of their track 'Octet' from last years 'Cryptograms' album in the inbox. I don't know anything about the background to this particular track only that it's a rework by Simian [...]
New Wax Atlanta's Deerhunter crafts beautifully damaged pop songs on their third full-length album Microcastle, which was just made available as a physical release (it's been on iTunes since August). The songs are roughed up with the same garage-rock aesthetic we'd come to expect from the band, but at its core, the album is more direct and contains less experimental art-noise. Cartoonish...
Deerhunter , Times New Viking , and Nite Jewel played at Emo's down in Austin last night, and our exceedingly awesome new photographer Pooneh Ghana was in the building.
