--- - |- Tim Russert died Friday and he was one of my favorite moderators. Not just because of his long career and thorough questioning, but that little snicker he had as he was doing the grilling, showing that he was having fun as much as he was working hard. Meet the Press won't be the same.RIP Tim RussertMay 7, 1950 - June 13, 2008David Bowie - Under Pressure (ft. Queen) AZLTRON MUSIC BLOG...
Turns out David Bowie is helping Woody Allen muse Scarlett Johansson on her debut music album, Anywhere I Lay My Head. Bowie lent his chops on two songs on the record - "Fannin’ Street" and "Falling Down." We can only assume the collaboration came with the help of the record's producer David Sitek. Sitek is a member of TV on the Radio, whom Bowie has plugged through the years. Billboard reports.
According to economist Evan Davies, who fronts the BBC's Dragons Den, the credit crunch is all David Bowie's fault. In the mid-90s, Bowie raised $50million selling 'Bowie Bonds', which entitled the buyer to a share of the royalties from the singer's back-catalogue. In return, Bowie collected future profits up-front.Davies said that the intiative, known as securitisation, was picked up by banks t...
At this point we are well used to models converting to acting or posing as a TV spokesperson. However, it is typically more painful when models try to sing. Something about matching pitch, tone, and still smiling and strutting often proves too tough for the lanky long-limbed leopards in leotards. BUT word is Aggy will triapse onstage at The Nokia Green Room this Saturday at the Riverside Studi...

Music legend David Bowie was arrested in upstate New York in March 1976 on a felony pot possession charge. The Thin White Duke, 29 at the time, was nabbed along with Iggy Pop and two other codefendants at a Rochester hotel following a concert. Bowie was held in the Monroe County jail for a few hours before being released. The Rochester Police Department mug shot was taken three days after Bowie...
Last weekend the New York Times Week in Review featured a misleading story on the "Golden Years" of Afghanistan. I was there; they're weren't a golden age. They were kind of Bronze Age. Elisabeth Bumiller, the writer, was once voted the Worst Campaign Journalist of 2004. She's gotten worse with time-- unless her beat is Moth Goose tales. I've got the full Afghanistan version of this story at Do...

Something I remembered when I read about the QTSA gig at Norwegian Wood this year (http://mog.com/MrFrost/blog_post/167833). Bowie makes his revenge with an extra long set (more than two hours)Lucky it was his left eye.
Promiscuous Anglerfish: David Bowie vs. Kanye Westby Mark Asch • May 21, 2009There are several ways we might go about demonstrating that hip-hop, not rock (or country, or old-time folk, or jazz, or blues, or chamber, or orchestral classical music, or opera, or musical theater, or mainstream radio pop, or whatever else you might name as a world unto itself), is the dominant form of today's Ameri.
You lucky Mail readers!!!! I was googling to see what was new with Mr. Ziggy these days. It's been quite a while since we've heard any new stuff from the Glitter god. I found a link on his Bowie.net site for this great article written by the man himself. Included in the issue was a free CD of Bowie's favorite Bowie songs. If you're a real fan, you already had these songs anyway. But, it's cool t...
