All Music GuidePianist Dave McKenna was still relatively unknown at the time that he recorded this rare LP for Shiah; he would soon be recording regularly for Concord. The dozen piano solos have a bigger percentage than usual of allads, although a couple cookers are tossed in. Among the highlights are "By Myself," "No More Ouzo for Puzo," "I Love You Samantha," and a heated "It All Depends on You." McKenna is typically distinctive throughout with his melodic approach and swinging basslines.
