Some of you are aware I've been planning a long-distance seduction - er, I mean MOG MEET - for some time now. Time flies when you're having fun...a year of Mog mail and two months of serious flirtation have landed my Most Trusted Mogger, Robin H, on my doorstep! Robin and I couldn't help but hit it off when we both noticed each other's Miyazaki avatars - he is Totoro and I am Shishigami - which led to our first contact. We soon discovered we had musically come of age at... MORE
Breathe in for luck, breathe in so deep, this air is blessed, you share with me.This night is wild,so calm and dull, these hearts they race, from self control.Your legs are smooth,as they graze mine,we're doing fine,we're doing nothing at all. My hopes are so high, that your kiss might kill me.So won't you kill me,so I die happy. My heart is yours to fill or burst,to break or bury,or wear as jewelery, which ever you prefer. The words are hushed lets not get busted;just lay ent... MORE
I hadn't heard the original "El Scorcho," by Weezer the first time I had heard Dashboard's, but I must say, it's beautifully done. I can listen to it over and over and it never gets old. Isn't that the best kind of song? I've heard people say that Carabba just took El Scorcho, tried to make it pretty, and failed, but in my opinion he accomplished whatever he was trying to do with it. It's a different style, yes, and some may not like it, but I think it works. Dashboard... MORE
So on Scrubs a few weeks ago, they used the song "Stolen" by Dashboard Confessional. The past few weeks, I wake up in the morning and turn on some vh1 and the video for said song comes on. And i'll say it- it's to the point I really like the song and am debating purchasing the record, even though I'd sworn off Dashboard. I mean, "Vindicated", ick. Alas, that leads me to wondering- are there any songs/artists that you guys didn't like at first, but heard/saw on tv and... MORE
Bye Bye top 40 "rock" like Nickelback. Welcome God indie bands with talent, creativity and an ability to write songs, phew. I'm not exaggerate. The soundtrack for the third Spiderman film includes bands like Snow Patrol, The Killers, Rogue Wave and especially my favorite band, The Flaming Lips who continue to inspire with two songs, including a great and very self-aware cover of the Spiderman theme song. Before you are going to listen all that, let me remind you song f... MORE
Have you seen the "Stolen" music video from Dashboard Confessional? A boy and a girl finding their love for each other and it just keeps growing as their distance grow apart.. That's sad but it's a great love story! It's so touching, I want a love story like that...
I'm halfway through an old dashboard album, and im loving every minute. I'd forgotten how much fun despair is. That said, i just saw a new UPS commercial with "Such Great Heights" from the Postal Service playing in the backround. Marketing snafu or just plain cockiness?
I was waiting for this album to come out for two years. I was hoping it was going to be great since he said in a interview that he redid the album because it was not wear he was in his life. Lets just say I have listen to the album twice. I am not a fan of the album and I love all the other stuff. My WTF album of the year is Dashboard Confessional, Dusk and Summer. What album were looking forward to and when you listen to it was like WTF?
I thought htis was a really disappointing effort by Dash. I listened to almost nothing but dashboard in the dorms my Freshman year, and alot of memories of that time that I have can be traced back to those songs. But Dusk and Summer was a sell-out and a big disappointment. I went to see Chris at the Paramount in Seattle in mid-July of this year and loved his concert, he is so soulful, yet whenever I order my DC songs according to preference this album always falls to the b...
