AMG Review of Flubber
Steven E. McDonald
All Music GuideWhile not exactly a great film, Flubber does sport a Danny Elfman score that flirts happily with many of the Elfman trademarks, from blasting brass crescendos to goofy organ lines and peculiar instrumental interruptions. Much of it will remind Elfman fans of everything from the heyday of Oingo Boingo to the more outrageous passages of his Beetlejuice score. The happy result might not be any sort of real step forward, but it is cheerfully fun and sounds terrific. KC & the Sunshine Band close the album with "Goo a Little Dance," a remake of their hit "Get Down Tonight."
