James Mercer of The Shins has spoken out about plans to stretch his musical wings with a new band for some time now and it seems that finally, today is the time of unveiling. Mercer, alongside none other than Brian Burton AKA Danger Mouse make up the new duo and apparently, they're titled Broken Bells.

Dark Night Of The Soul has had a troubled release and, well, it's not even really had a release at all. The story goes like this; Danger Mouse AKA Brian Burton and Sparklehorse AKA Mark Linkous got together and decided to make a compilation record featuring a range of artists singing on each of the tracks.
