I was just talking to my roommates about how concert promoters have a way of hyping a show/band that can make you feel duped afterward. Back in 1997 I saw the first OzzFest tour. It was billed as the last time Black Sabbath (w/ Mike Bordin filling in for original drummer Bill Ward) would play. The lineup included Pantera and Marilyn Manson. One of the videos in "Musique Vol. I 1993 - 2005". For me, the CD from this compilation goes from great to plain good about halfway in, and I just saw them not long ago with their new show everyone is talking about, but this video makes me wish I could have seen them back then really bad. A far rawer setup, way more hardware oriented and no pyrotechnics in comparison, but still awesome.... MORE

Let this serve as a warning, gentle reader. A record exec acquaintance passed me a copy of Daft Punk's previous album _Human After All_ about three months before its official release. Daft Punk's debut album, Homework, is one of my all-time favorite albums! after all these years it's still one of those albums i can listen to all the way through and not tire of...still! "indo silver club" is my fave.

So here is a strange thing, I'm on a trip to see the Pittsburgh Pirates game, and on this trip I got to see a long lost friend named Jasmine. I'm going through her Zune and I discover this band named "Daft Punk." I was immediately intrigued and listened to the one song she had, "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger." I ended up loving it and downloading it my self on to my computer, and low and behold not long after, there is a song on the radio with Kanye West that blows my mind... MORE

I guess I wasn't the only one to be blown away by Kanye West's mash-up of Daft Punk's song for his new album. Turns out, Daft Punk loved it as well and they are eager to produce new songs with him! West's manager, Don C, told MTV , "They loved the album and the way Kanye is pushing the envelope for hip-hop..." I would love to hear an entire album of songs like "Stronger." Daft Punk have added more tour dates following their Ocotber 27th gig at Vegoose Festival in Las Vegas. Unfortunately non of them are in the US, but some people in Japan are going to be happy. The duo are heading west after a Halloween stop in Mexico City and making stops in both Japan and Australia. The live album Daft Punk Alive 2007 will be released November 20th. Daft Punk tour dates:
