Creedence is one of the greatest southern rock bands of all time.  Their sound is impossible to replicate, and without them music today would not be the same. They are a strong creative influence in SwampDaWamp's music, and I'm sure we're not the only ones.  This post is really just paying homage to a bunch of great musicians, and nothing more.  The music speaks for itself.

Oh cool, can't sleep cuz I'm pissed off for personal reasons, maybe I'll just turn this page into an anti-war section. God knows I must have enough songs. What else is a great anti-war song of the moment?

Bad Moon Reprising

Free music video of Green River (30)
When Creedence Clearwater Revival were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 1993, it was a couple of years too late for mainman John Fogerty's guitarist brother Tom. That's not to say that his death prevented him from joining in the fun, as the story goes that his widow brought his urn along to the ceremony in a handbag, giving it a good shuffle along to the reconvend band's performance of Bad Moon Rising. It's a marvellous little tale (hopefully true!) that man... MORE

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Green River (1969)

(296)
Blank (41)
Blog post image preview CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL - GREEN RIVER (1969)1969, a time when Rock music was metamorphing in every direction, driven by changing cultures, social awareness, and recreational drug use. Bands were discovering Heavy Rock, Folk Rock, the remnants of Blues, and all sounded perfect for the new spaced out population, everyone in the clouds untethered, listening to their Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jefferson Airplane tapes. So where do CCR find a vehicle for their "... MORE

Wolfgang's Vault

Blog post image preview Bill Graham was foresighted enough to tape every concert that he promoted, all the way back to 1966. Now it's online. Wolfgang's Vault is three things - a 'radio station', a concert archive, and a shop selling original Fillmore posters. The events aren't restricted to just Graham's concerts; there's all sorts of stuff and the quality is by and large exceellent. A quick scan of the 360 shows pulls up Bowie (1985), Miles Davis (1970), Elvis Costello (78 and 84), The Who (68... MORE

After two weeks worth of workdays at home due to flu-like symptoms/blizzards/holiday vacations, I can't help but feel like this 'work' place is highly unfamiliar. Break was great. Blizzards rule when you're prepared. We never lost power or cable or internet or any of that stuff; as such, 6+ days of not being able to get around in the snow just made for awesome family time. My youngest son turns one year old today. I'm sure I'll post a recent picture of him later. If ... MORE

Blog post image preview Creedence Clearwater Revival – Pendulum (Fantasy) During 1969 and 1970, CCR was dismissed by hipsters as a bubblegum pop band and the sniping had grown intolerable, at least to John Fogerty, who designed Pendulum as a rebuke to critics. He spent time polishing the production, bringing in keyboards, horns, even a vocal choir. His songs became self-consciously serious and tighter, working with the aesthetic of the rock underground — Pendulum was constructed as a proper... MORE

Blog post image preview Ow! This album is hot. It's not even sunny outside, but I'm getting sunburn! I know absolutely nothing about this band. Nothing. I guess they're American. And they sound like a really smokin' version of the Stones. I'm in the process of making a 'Summer/Barbecue/Beer' mixtape and I can tell a lot of these tunes are going straight on it. This album is all about sitting in the garden with a can of beer, perfect. I really think I've just discovered a band I'm gonna love... MORE
