This is the first time I've actually made a post prior to attending a performance; however, there's a song and a video that I just couldn't wait to share. Think of it as a teaser post with a post Colin Meloy concert post to come.
I had to share this particular video for the following reasons:
1.) The song is fabulous
2.) His shirt is fabulous

On his previous solo tour, Colin Meloy paid tribute to Morrissey and British folk singer Shirley Collins. This spring, when Meloy heads out on another solo trek, he will be singing the songs of soul legend Sam Cooke. The Decemberists frontman Colin Meloy will release a new album of live recordings from his 2006 solo tour, dubbed Colin Meloy Sings Live! on April 8th. The two-week tour across the U.S. found Meloy covering tracks by British vets, folksinger Shirley Collins and the Smiths frontman Morrissey - both of whom Meloy honored separately with live EP cover albums (i.e. Colin Meloy Sings Morrissey and Colin Meloy Sings Shirley Collins).
