When I arrived at the Aladdin Theater to see Colin Hay, I was not prepared for the show I ended up getting. My experiences with Hay’s music have been contained mostly to his mellower, acoustic work and his time spent with Men at Work. This show proved to be a lot more rocking than I had anticipated.Hay is currently touring in support of his forthcoming album, American Sunshine. Partially record.
There have been a few songs lately that have been tugging at my already over-romanticized heart strings. But by far, the delivery, tone, and sheer melancholy/happiness in his voice gets me every time. It’s one of those sit on the porch, sipping something hot while the wind blows through your hair and you squint into the horizon- songs.I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over Youlyrics by COLIN HA.

I guess i wasn't cut out for normal jobs, maybe ...

I was watching one of those reruns of "Scrubs" on Comedy Central a week or two ago and I heard Colin Hay's "Overkill," which I hadn't heard in a really long time. I literally could not get the song out of my head after that. For days. I love that the guy who sang "Land Down Under" still has really good solo career these days. I love finding out little trivia bits and pieces like that - that so-...
