My first impressions of Coldplay's latest: It's lovely, orchestral, ambient, confident and timeless.It sounds like their own Unforgettable Fire. An imperfect masterpiece.Is it just me or does Lovers in Japan sound like a cross between James' Sometimes and Where the Streets have no Name? The more i listen to this album the more it ingrains itself into me. I must say that i am not a huge Coldplay fan, however Viva la Vida keeps surprising me. There is a lot of music here and a rich tapestry of sounds is a pleasure for me. Sounds like they may have even had fun with this one. It's almost like a Phil Spector wall of sound. I'm enjoying it.
