Coldplay are an English rock band. Formed in 1996 in London, the group comprises vocalist/pianist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion. Coldplay achieved worldwide fame with their 2000 single "Yellow", followed by the success of their debut album, Parachutes, which was nominated for the Mercury Prize. I like Coldplay, and I don't care who knows it.
People tell me I shouldn't, they tell me they're Radiohead-lite for teenage girls, their lyrics are terrible, Chris Martin is a pretentious, prepubescent prick. And I just don't care.
Of course I had heard "Clocks" and "Yellow" on the radio, but it all started with the 2003 World Series. My family's beloved New York Yankees were playing the upstart Florida Marlins, and lost the title in Game 7. We sat in front of the T... MORE

I've been revisiting George Harrison's "Isn't it a Pity" and the song's influence on Coldplay's "The Scientist."
Listening to "The Scientist" inspired this poem I wrote today.
Shaking the Photobooth Curse

Yeah I haven't been MOGing which probably went unnoticed- and that is okay! I just spent a week away from modern society working in a camp for youth which was so amazing. The atmosphere created was completely non-judgemental and I felt as if I had found my place in the universe. There were tons of workshops every day too on environmental and social justice workshops and all in all it was one of the most incredible weeks in my life. I left being completely full of posit...
