I've been spending the majority of this month working on and thinking about thing other than music. There is the job search, there is getting through my part time jobs and just dealing with the day to day challenges of life. This post is inspired by a band that fellow MOGger and all around good guy Iren mentioned earlier.
This band is called Cock Sparrer. And I have the utmost respect for these guys even though I have never heard a single note of their music. When you decide to call your band Cock Sparrer...you pretty much write off any idea of ever headlining the Super Bowl halftime show or even playing Conan O'Brien for that matter...yet they chose Cock Sparrer. It's been a hard month out here on the edge of the prairie, work, life, and all of that stuff, coupled with the heat have me a little out of sorts. Forget the amazing early Cocksparrer songs, forget that Shock Troops is one of the great punk records that people overlook, Battersea Bardot alone is enough to make Cocksparrer band of note.
