The main problem with punk music - the likes of Good Charlotte and Cobra Starship lament - is that the vast majority of its proponents are anti-establishment and anti-materialistic. Such blatant bias makes it really awkward to be in a band if you happen to be fiercely nationalistic and want to hang out at all the cool parties.
