All Music GuideThere's nothing like the grandiose sweep of a good old-fashioned Western score, as this set demonstrates more than adequately. Part of Silva's midline series, Westerns! has a delightful rhythm and pace that harkens to both classical music and the folk music of the frontier; many of the epic Western scores utilized folk songs as an integral element. That said, the album also features quieter moments as well, such as "Claudia's Theme" from #Unforgiven, as well as selections from slightly unusual choices, such as #A Distant Trumpet. The album is encoded for Dolby Surround and High Density Compatible Digital.
