Chocolate
Formed by producer Juan Carlos Cáceres, Uruguayan five-member group Chocolate debuted with the release of Carińito in 1997. Fuego Contra Fuego followed in 1998. After signing up to Obligado Records, a greatest-hits album featured the international hit single "Mayonesa." Combining local rhythms munga and candombe with ropical music, Chocolate became a huge success in Argentina, Chile, and Paraguay. The group toured the U.S. for the first time in 2001.
