All Music GuideCherrelle's light, wispy, occasionally whiny soprano proved quite popular with '80s urban audiences, especially women. Her second album included a monster single, "Saturday Love," that was dominated by duet partner Alexander O'Neal, but marked the start of what became a profitable union. The song almost made it to the top, peaking at number two and turning the album into a smash. It also yielded a decent followup hit in "Artificial Heart," which reached number 18. Cherrelle later appeared on O'Neal's debut album Alexander O'Neal.
