I've been loving Phil Schaap on the Colombia University radios stations. He is a jazz scholar has these long broadcasts playing jazz and putting them in context. He'll speak for about 20 minutes about every musicican in a 5 minute piece and give you loads of superfluous information. It's sort of tedious and most of my drives are too short to hear more than one song and the preceding commentary (actually it's long schpeel), but it's so worth it to pay attention. Best e... MORE
