Sorry for the lack of run downs the last few days. My day job turned into my night job as well for a moment. Back to it now though. Hope all who attended the Virgin Free Fest on Sunday had a blast. This week has mellowed out for shows but there are two events in [...]

Celebration's Electric Tarot website is now up and running. As previously mentioned, the band will be releasing free MP3's via their site as they record them. They are accepting donations along the way, and will release the full set on vinyl u...

Celebration are about to release their new album, The Modern Tribe on 4AD Records. To get everyone juiced about the new material, which was recorded by Dave Sitek (see previous MOG news report), the band filmed themselves by a campfire, playing various songs from the album acoustically. They will be releasing a new video every few days until the album is released on Tuesday, September 25th. ...
When the story broke that Dave Sitek had recorded the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Celebration for music used on Scarlett Johansson's forthcoming album, I had a hunch that a new Celebration album might also be in the works. The Baltimore-based band has been friends with Sitek for awhile and been part of Sitek's projects before. Nick Zinner of the YYYs is reported to be a fan of their music himself. S...
Baltimore’s Celebration has put together another track for their free online album Electric Tarot Hello Paradise. This one is entitled “Open Your Heart” and has a kind of 50s/60s prom ballad feel to it (ala Earth Angel). Take a listen:mp3: Celebration – Open Your HeartYou can grab the first two tracks on their site. Keep [...]
...entitled The Modern Tribe, by the ever-glorious-by-the-second Celebration. was hoping for something as jaw-droppingly unique and brilliant as their debut, but holy shit, i was not expecting divinity! they manage even more so to cash in on their primal-cabaret-tribal-funk-new wave-soul, simultaneously channeling everyone from Pollly Jean Harvey ("Pony") to fucking Fela Kuti ("Hands Off My Gol...
