Freak folk. Say it with me. Freak. Folk. It’s a strange one isn’t it?Many have dubbed the likes of Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom and Sufjan Stevens as freak or anti-folk but truthfully, they’re not. Castanets is freak folk. A league of freaky folk that freaks the folk outta me.

trying to convince myself that morning is a good idea, and that i'm feeling better. trying to convince myself to make a pot of coffee, fold up the duvet, and face the morning. the sun is still not out yet, though, and music like this makes me want to slip back into the haze of sleepy dreamtime.

In a contest between The Smiths and Stereophonics there are few categories which would put the Welsh men first. Sales may be a different matter though, since Morrissey himself has decried the release of yet another Smiths compilation and ordered his legion of fans to boycott.
