A beautiful album, Muito reveals Caetano Veloso for the great poet/lyricist he is, and spares listeners from his sometimes pretentious intellectualism. "Terra" is a touching ode to mother Earth delivered with 12-string violőes and discrete percussion. "Tempo de Estio" celebrates tropical pleasures. "Muito Romântico" is a beautiful song, but the use of a choir with square vocal arrangements compromised it. "Quem Cochicha o Rabo Espicha" (Jorge Ben) has an exciting swing where a jazz piano adds a nice touch, but Ben's rendition is unrivaled. "Eu Sei Que Vou Te Amar" is pure Veloso and his most delicate style interpreting the ossa classic at the violăo. "Sampa" was the big hit of this album, quickly transformed in an unofficial anthem to the city of Săo Paulo, becoming a synonym for it. The voice/piano rendition of "Eu Ee Amo" is also very expressive. A sometimes delicate, sometimes swinging album, without electronics, and very strong melodically.
