I think there are few things more universal than music. That's obviously why mixtapes exist at all. When you can't find the right words to say something, but your favorite bands and favorite songs can. When you relate to a song so much it's like you wrote the words yourself. Wrote the words for her... But mixtapes exist in different capacities. It's not just the mix cd she gave to you, but it's the one that you may or may not have given to her... It's all those songs you ... MORE

november 11 is the day producer-extrordinaire, and full of energy rockstar, butch walker will release his newest solo effort, sycamore meadows . poor butch has had a tough year , so i'm guessing this album will be full of the lyrical, emotional aftermath of it. those always make for good tunes.
look for the first single, 'the weight of her,' to be given as a freebie next week on amazon .

God, everytime I hear this guy I'm amazed. It doesn't even matter if I've heard the song a million times either, his vocal talent, lyrics and emotion never fail to blow me away. Reminds me exactly why he is my favorite musical artist ever, and reminds me why I'm literally dying to hear his new album, "Sycamore Meadows". Butch has recently broken from the record label system, and as a result I still have no idea when this album will come out, what the tracklist will be, or ... MORE
As of yesterday (Valentines Day) Butch Walker has officially abandoned the major label system. He offered up 22 out of 24 songs off of his new live album/DVD, "Leavin' the Game on Luckie Street" entirely for free. You can head over the website: www.therecordbusinessisfucked.com in order to download it now and trust me, you're going to want to.
This song is just so fucking heartbreaking, but its awesome because its just such a huge "fuck you" to an ex. Give it a spin!
I was front row center at the How I Wrote That Song thing that BMI had at the Key Club yesterday. Patrick Stump performed "This Ain't A Scene..." acoustic and it was so cute. However, I was not there for Patrick Stump, I was there for Butch Walker. The always-lovely, always-amazing Butch Walker, who made cutesquishyfaces at me from the moment he walked on stage. When Butch was getting ready to play "Take Tomorrow," he had gone to the side of the stage to get his gui... MORE
I don't know why I never took the time to listen to this song. Maybe it was because of the fact that I spent most of my time flipping between "Hot Girls in Good Moods," "Bethamphetamine (Pretty Pretty)," and "The Taste of Red." However, last night, I played the entire album and fell hopelessly and desperately in love with this song. It's absolutely beautiful. Absolutely. I can only keep this feeling for a minute, can only stare at a Polaroid so longbefore the Chromofi... MORE
So, as I have mentioned before (and you can clearly see by my page) I have bad taste in music. I believe the technical term is “Shitty.” To put it in perspective, my current musical addiction is Butch Walker. I went to see him in concert last year and I was blown away by his musical talent and inability to shower on a regular basis. He literally played every instrument on stage and sang backup for some of the other artists that played that night. I’m quite sure if ... MORE
I just bought The Rise and Fall of Butch Walker and the Let's-Go-Out-Tonites and absolutely love it. But, as it's nearly 6 am and I really should be in bed, I'm not going to spend a whole lot of time talking about it. Instead, I'll let you read an Amazon.com review of the album that I just had to share:
So, what does Butch Walker sound like? Imagine you're having lunch in the cafeteria in the Brill Building. As soon as you sit down, Gerry Goffin and Carole King come ove... MORE
Time for you to think things over
Time to talk the drama down
It's not a contest of who'll try harder
Or who'll cross the finish line
This is a simply pop song but it explains what I feel now. My first exam is gone and I only want to put my mind down to see a silly movies or make a strange theories.
When you act like nothing ever happened,
I feel like I should feel bad,
but I can't like someone who thought
they're the only one that mattered,
I hope that you're flattered
'cause you broke this down,
the best thing that you never had.
What a perfect song for you and I.
