All Music GuideThe third of five CDs that document two nights from pianist Bud Powell's 1962 appearances at the Golden Circle in Stockholm, makes up for its low quantity (just 34˝ minutes) with some high quality. Powell and the two local musicians (bassist Torbjorn Hultcrantz and drummer Sune Spangberg) stretch out on a version of "Swedish Pastry" that is over 18 minutes, sound quite emotional on "I Remember Clifford" and jam a shorter "I Hear Music." This five-CD series should really have been three sets but it contains some valuable music and enjoyable playing.
