All Music GuideThis self-produced album aims to be a "dreamtime cycle" that transports the listener through different historical eras: Arthurian, Renaissance, and the Age of Reason. Basically it's mainstream /p>
ew age: a dreamy song cycle of instrumentals, soft ock, and Celtic moods, emanating from the textures of McCloud's Roland GR-1 guitar synthesizer. The best moments are when McCloud gets earthy with Celtic-tinged melodies and the ock structures, where he approaches the huskiness of (believe it or not) Bruce Springsteen. On the Edge of Time is spacy, synthy, and meditative ethnic fusion, polished with a digital veneer.
