When Bon Jovi were scheduled to play a stadium gig in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in June, they bumped into an inconvenience: 50,000+ tickets to sell on a night that the Dutch national team play France in the European Soccer Cup.
So the powers that be have come up with a solution.
They've attracted VanVelzen to perform as the opening act. Unknown outside The Netherlands, perhaps, but within the country this singer/songwriter is already a huge star (in popularity terms, not... MORE

It’s game time. Billboard Boxscore released their midyear touring numbers with Van Halen, Bon Jovi, The Police, Miley Cyrus and Jay-Z/Mary J Blige all making the top ten. The midyear boxscore is taken for touring between November 14th, 2007 thru May 13th 2008. Your job is to match the correct chart position and gross to the artist. Here’s a hint. Bon Jovi came in at number one making $112.4 million.

2. $70 m... MORE
Bon Jovi's concert in Central Park this Saturday is free. But that isn't stopping some scalpers from selling tickets for as much as $1,500 a pair, despite a stipulation they cannot be resold. New York City has distributed 60,000 tickets, with each person limited to two freebies. The performance is billed as a prelude to the July 15th All-Star baseball game, which will highlight the final season at Yankee Stadium. The New York Post reports that it found 267 listings for ... Our friend Allyson over at Bring Back Glam points out that today is the 20th anniversary of Bon Jovi’s hair metal masterpiece New Jersey. I’d be lying if I said I never got drunk and did a karaoke version of "Bad Medicine," so, to commemorate the event, here is Bon Jovi playing "Bad Medicine" live [...]

Quote:"Jon Bon Jovi could be planning to run for governor of New Jersey. That's why he's keeping his house in Red Bank, even though he and his wife, Dorothea, and their four kids have moved to SoHo. That's why he performs regularly at fund-raisers for Democrats like Al Gore and John Kerry. And that's why he hired p.r. guru Ken Sunshine, who was once the chief of staff for ex-Mayor David Dinkins."

Quote: "Remember when everyone was talking about how maybe Jon Bon Jovi was going to run for governor of New Jersey? Well, it turns out he's already earned himself a much more important seat: in one of the judges' chairs of Project Runway. That's right. His Joviness will be giving Bravo's most popular show a bad name."

You know those new electronic voting booths that say the majority voted for so-and-so, even though the majority seems to be upset that the person they voted for didn’t win the Presidential election. Well, sometimes I think this happens with Nielsen SoundScan. This week both The White Stripes and Bon Jovi had new albums. Off hand, you’d think the majority would buy white Stripes albums, given their press coverage, headlining festival spots and etc. But much like the Bus... MORE
Okay, so it's been a while. I've been overwhelmed in work and underwhelmed in the record stores, so I'm taking the time to rehash a conversation I had with my brother a couple of weeks ago. Dave - we'll call him that, because that's his name - is a fan of the band Bon Jovi (settle down, I'm going somewhere with this), who recently played the inaugural concert in London's O2 Arena (formerly the Millenium Dome). Over a family dinner Dave said that if he knew anyone willing... MORE
I already have my age posted so I don't think I am revealing all that much if I admit that I graduated from high school in 1988. I don't know if it is a tradition in other countries but in a lot of american schools the class has a 'class song'. The song that is supposed to represent the class and their feelings about and experiences during high school. My class song Never Say Goodbye by Bon Jovi. Many of you have probably not heard it (don't feel the need to run out ... MORE
holy shit, this is the first time i've been able to get MOG to load in under five minutes in forever - which is partially the reason i don't ever get to write anymore. usually i have between 5 and 10 minutes of free time before i get distracted, whether because of a ringing phone, a doorbell, or even a flavor of love marathon coming on. but the great thing is that NOW, for the first time in forever, something fantastic happened that i automatically wanted to tell people ... So this month (June 19th) Bon Jovi and his band will be releasing their 10th album (Not including live albums or compilations). This raises two questions in my head: a) IS THIS GUY EVER GOING TO GIVE UP and; b) HOW MANY GENRES WILL THIS GUY COVER? Is enough enough for Bon Jovi and his crew yet, or are we still waiting for more from him? P.S. Among others who may be considered washed up releasing new albums are Paul McCartney and Rush. Also, we may as well include newcome... MORE
